Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon reveals real-life friendship with on-screen rival
"We are basically like the same person."
Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has opened up about her real-life friendship with co-star Charlotte Jordan.
Lucy recently returned to Weatherfield as Bethany Platt, becoming close with Daniel Osbourne ever since his break-up with Charlotte’s character Daisy Midgeley.
While they may be rivals over Daniel, the actress has explained that she and Charlotte thankfully “get on so well in real life”.

Opening up about filming tense scenes with the Daisy actress, Lucy explained: “I love filming those scenes. When Bethany was in Corrie last time, she never had anyone who was super bitchy with her all of the time which makes it more fun this time.
“We have a lot of great stuff to do and it’s great that we get on so well in real life. I’ve now been put into Charlotte’s dressing room and when I went in I put two bottles of perfume on the table and Charlotte actually had the two exact same perfumes, the same bag and same make of tracksuit on! So we are basically like the same person.”
Speaking about her character’s storyline, Lucy admitted that Bethany feels “threatened” by Daisy, noting: “Bethany has been trying to make an effort with Daisy and Daisy has shot her down each time.

“I do think the only reason that she would be so argumentative with Daisy is because she feels quite threatened by her. I think Bethany knows that Daisy had a really great relationship with Bertie and will always have that special connection with him, which is something she feels really jealous over.”
Asked what draws Bethany to Daniel, the actress mused: “I think it”s probably because of all of the history between them which was ultimately unfinished business. I think they both have the same interests and he is very intelligent, which Bethany is too – Lucy not so much – but Bethany definitely.”
Lucy also said she would like the two to go the distance, arguing that “it would be good for Bethany to be in a relationship and for them to stay together”.

“But then again, I’m not entirely sure because is it really the right thing?” she added.
“Personally, I think Daniel would still be with Daisy had she not cheated on him, so even though I do think Daniel is good for Bethany and I would love them to have a wholesome relationship, I also think that if I was Bethany I would definitely be questioning if he was still in love with Daisy, because he must still love her a little bit….”
