Coronation Street’s Roy Cropper to face backlash at Lauren Bolton vigil
Will he listen to his friends' advice?
Coronation Street‘s Roy Cropper is going to face a backlash next week, as he attends Lauren Bolton’s vigil.
Lauren is missing and presumed dead, and Roy was recently arrested on suspicion of murder. While he was released on bail, he was put under curfew, but videos of his arrest have started doing the rounds online.
In scenes set to air on Wednesday (March 20), Roy joins Nina, Carla, Bobby, Max, Evelyn, and Asha for Lauren’s vigil.
Roy makes a speech about how fond he was of Lauren, but some local lads make some mean comments and film him while doing so, as he has drawn the attention of internet sleuths.
Evelyn, Carla and Nina all implore Roy to keep a low profile until the person who is really responsible for Lauren’s disappearance/potential murder is discovered. Will Roy actually listen to their advice though?
Speaking about Roy’s mindset, actor David Neilson said: “He’s got to go to the vigil because of how he felt about Lauren. I don’t think he’s aware just how worried people are about him.
“He worries about Nina and her welfare because of what happened with Seb and he realises she’d be a target too and it just gradually gets through because Evelyn points it out. He resents that, of course, he’s on curfew as well.
“And then he decides to lock himself upstairs, keep out of the way and not cause any more trouble because he might be causing trouble for other people, I suppose. And that is more important to him. He just wants his life back. “
