Coronation Street’s Steve warns Tracy over Tommy’s exit plan
But does she already know?
Coronation Street‘s Steve McDonald can’t resist meddling in his estranged wife Tracy’s new relationship next week.
Steve issues a warning following his recent discovery that Tommy Orpington is planning to move abroad.
Last month, Steve was heartbroken to find out that Tracy had been cheating on him with former footballer Tommy. Tracy showed little guilt for her betrayal and decided to make a go of things with Tommy.
Steve later found out that Tommy has accepted a job as an assistant coach at a football academy in Spain, which cast doubt over his long-term commitment to Tracy.
Next week, Steve and Tracy’s daughter Amy Barlow suggests that she should be the one to break this news to her mum.
Steve still can’t resist dropping the bombshell himself, so he tells Tracy when he spots her at the Rovers Return – but did she already know?
An optimistic Steve suggests that with Tommy out of the way, they could give their marriage another try.
This approach seems to get Steve nowhere, so he resorts to Plan B by joining a dating site in the hope of moving on with his life.
Meanwhile, Amy once again finds herself caught in the middle when Tommy approaches her for help.
With Tommy dead-set on the move, he asks Amy to have a word with Tracy for him because he wants a chance to explain himself before he goes.
Will Tracy be prepared to listen – and is there still a chance that Tommy could invite her to join him?
Matt Milburn, who plays Tommy, recently told us: “I think he’s maybe a little bit torn. I think in the back of his mind, he probably would want to give it a go with Tracy.
“But then at the same time, I think there’s the fear that should he drop his guard and maybe ask Tracy if she wants to go with him, but if she wasn’t on the same page, he won’t want to get burned again. He’s fighting with that.
“It’d be interesting to show a little bit of a relationship and maybe see what happens in the future. From a Matt Milburn selfish point of view, I’d love him to stay with Tracy, because that would mean I stay for longer from an acting perspective!”
