Coronation Street's famous pub has a brand new owner following an unlikely twist, as Carla Connor took over the pub from Jenny Connor and Daisy Midgeley after a huge discovery
Coronation Street has revealed the new owner of The Rovers – and it’s neither Daisy Midgeley or Jenny Connor.
On Wednesday’s night visit to the cobbles, Carla Connor finally found out some shocking news about the pair and the truth about her stolen money. Daisy and Jenny had managed to get their hands on the cash that murderer Stephen Reid- Jenny’s ex-partner- stole from Carla’s factory last before he met his fate.
Following Stephen’s death, Carla was distraught as she was convinced she’d never see her money again. However, she didn’t know that Daisy had got into Stephen’s bank accounts and had taken the money for herself.
Even though Jenny is friends with Carla, Daisy convinced her to keep it a secret. She then told her they needed the money to save the pub.
The pair went on to pretend that they’d been given a loan, with Daisy later saying her mum had given her some money. But Daisy and Jenny hid the rest of their stolen cash and didn’t tell anyone the truth.
But Daisy spending the money on designer goods and lavish items suspicions started to grow. The truth finally came out when a guilty Jenny confessed all to Carla.
With Carla raging, she headed straight to the police to tell them how the pair stole her money. But her brother Ryan who is deeply in love with Daisy convinced her to drop things.
When Carla returned to the pub, Daisy and Jenny received the shock of their lives when Carla told them that she now owns the establishment. Seeing the chaos unfold on their screens, fans couldn’t get enough and headed over to X formerly known as Twitter to share their thoughts on Carla’s new role.
One fans said: “Queen Carla is Queen of the Rovers!” While another penned: “‘This place is mine’. I just fell to my knees at Carla Connor landlady, it’s a dream.”
But the drama didn’t stop there. Carla told the ladies that since she put up the money, she would be in charge until they paid her everything back.
Carla, who already owns the underwear factory on Coronation Street, said she was going to check the books and make big choices. But things also took a deveastating turn for cheeky Daisy when Carla told she was sacked.
Seeing Daisy’s fall from grace, fans also commented on this aspect too. One viewer said: “Back to square 1 for Daisy. Working on Daniel for that house he inherited.”
While another wrote: “Well at least it’s opened Ryan’s eyes to what a selfish cow Daisy is. She definitely should get back with Daniel – two selfish, self absorbed people together.”
