Corrie exit ‘exposed’ for ‘best looking star in soap history’ after devastating blow
Coronation Street’s Daisy Midgeley has been a firm favourite on the cobbles since 2020 - but fans are now fearing the soap beauty could be moving on from Weatherfield
Coronation Street’s Daisy Midgeley could be saying her goodbyes to soap – and fans are not too happy.
The character, played by Charlotte Jordan, rocked up to the cobbles back in 2020 and has become a staple on the soap. Since her arrival, Daisy has been involved in a plethora of dramatic storylines.
Fans will recall how last year she got engaged to Dan Osbourne (Rob Mallard) and found herself in one of the most controversial scenes in the soap. In a harrowing turn of events, the sinister Justin Rutherford, chillingly played by Andrew Still, became obsessed with her.
His infatuation reached no bounds, and when she didn’t reciprocate his feelings, things turned ugly. Showcasing the full extent of his cold character, he launched acid at her, but in a moment of heroism, Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) saved the day.
During his difficult recovery, Ryan and Daisy grew closer and Daisy ended up cheating on Daniel with Ryan. Eventually, he found out the truth and dumped Daisy.
And it’s fair to say Daisy has become a firm favourite with viewers of the soap over the years. Online, plenty dish out the compliments. One fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Daisy is my favourite character in Corrie there’s just something about her acting that is really different to the others.”
Someone else added: “Daisy is so hot it’s ridiculous. Best looking girl in soap history??.” While a third quipped: “Daisy is a massive favourite character of mine in #corrie she doesn’t deserve this!”
But over in the soap at the moment Daisy has been left devastated after Bethany Platt’s shock move. Bethany made her return to the soap at the start of the year and has been causing trouble.
A budding journalist, she ended up writing an article about Daniel, Daisy and Ryan, and even grilled Lauren Bolton for gossip about them. And during Thursday’s episode (February 29) the article went live and everyone on the street soon saw it – including Daisy.
In an awkward moment, Mary received a message with the story, and accidentally airdropped it to everyone in the pub. Barmaid Daisy was left horrified to read: “I had a Torrid Affair with my Acid Attack Hero”, realising it was about her love triangle.
Now, fans fear that Bethany’s article could cause Daisy to leave the cobbles. On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “Why do I feel she could leave now the article is out. Maybe too embarrassed to face everyone?”
Someone else replied: “I did think this but I hope not!” Meanwhile on a Coronation Street fan Facebook page, a third viewer echoed their thoughts: “It was wrong of Bethany to do this just for a few quid. Wouldn’t be surprised if Daisy leaves now. Bethany didn’t take the victim’s feelings into consideration, daisy, Ryan and the Barlow family.”
AI tool Gemini has also echoed fan’s thoughts too. Daily Star has quizzed one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tools, Gemini, to see if Daisy could exit to the soap after Bethany’s article.
The program responded: “It’s definitely possible that Daisy could leave Coronation Street following the humiliation of Bethany’s article.” It explained how “shame and “embarrassment” could be the reason for her exit.
It said: “The public exposure of Daisy’s past actions or indiscretions could be deeply mortifying. This feeling of shame might push her to want to escape Weatherfield.”
