Corrie fans distracted and confused as Roy ‘cleans crime scene’ after Lauren ‘murder’
Coronation Street's Roy Cropper got plenty of fans suspicious after cleaning up Lauren's flat following her disappearance - but fans were left seriously distracted
Coronation Street viewers were left seriously distracted as Roy Cropper “cleaned the crime scene” after Lauren Bolton’s “murder.”
As fans will recall, troubled youngster Lauren has gone missing from the soap recently – and the last person to see her was Roy. Pal Bobby has been left concerned and after finding her flat empty and in a state, went to the cops to report her missing.
During Friday’s episode (March 8), due to Lauren going AWOL, Roy (David Neilson) is told that Evelyn will be charged for the state the flat has been left in. Once hearing this, he agrees and takes charge to clean it all up.
Roy then headed round to her flat which was filthy and the soap icon started to clean the entire flat – which got fans to thinking he could be behind her disappearance. On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “Roy cleaning the crime scene.”
A second mused: “Roy is acting so suss, maybe he does have something to do with Lauren going missing?” However other viewers watching at home couldn’t help but point out the “weird” way the scene was filmed.
As Roy got to work cleaning, a classical piece of music played over the top with the soap using a different filming technique. On X, one person said: “What’s with the action shots of Roy cleaning.
Someone else added: “What is with the weird camera angles whilst Roy cleans Lauren’s flat?” A third quipped: “Absolutely here for that Roy cleaning montage. The camera angles, the movement, the music. Chefs kiss.”
Another chimed in and wrote: “What’s with all this weird camera work….this is #corrie not some Sunday night crime drama.” A fifth penned: “What’s with the weird camerawork ya gal gets motion sickness.”
After cleaning the flat, Bobby rocked up and was stunned, and also suspicious, to find Roy there. He then headed over to see Carla to tell her how he thought Roy might be involved in Lauren’s disappearance.
Soap spoilers reveal that next week Roy gets arrested after police claim she’s been murdered. Blood is found at her flat, and Roy’s suspicious behaviour leads to him being arrested for her murder.
