Corrie fans turn on ‘nasty’ Daisy as they brand her new show ‘villain’
Coronation Street's Daisy Midgeley appeared unremorseful in the latest instalment of the hit ITV soap after Carla Connor finally discovered the truth about her stolen money
Coronation Street fans witnessed a “nasty” side to Daisy Midgeley as they branded her the new show “villain”.
Things took a dramatic turn on Wednesday night’s episode (April 3), when Carla found out that Daisy and her step-mum Jenny Connor had stolen her money. As suspicions began to grow due to Daisy’s extravagant spending habits, a guilty Jenny confessed everything to Carla and told her she would pay back the thousands of pounds she owed her after they stole £250K.
Jenny also tried to explain that she used the money to save the pub which she almost lost. Despite her tears, Carla was having none of it and went to confront Daisy, who had been purchasing designer clothes with her cash.
Daisy told Carla: “Look it’s not as bad as it sounds. It was a lifeline, it was to save the pub, it was to save jobs!”
But Carla saw red and headed straight to the police station with Ryan in tow. When factory owner Carla calmed down marginally, she decided not to press charges.
However, she declared that she was now the owner of the pub. She then told Daisy she was sacked.
However, an unremorseful Daisy didn’t take the news too well and lashed out at Jenny. Fuelled with anger, Daisy told her that she should have kept her mouth shut, insisting that they would have been able to get away with their crime.
But some viewers didn’t like Daisy’s stance and headed over to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts. One fan said: “As much as I love Daisy she seems to be showing no remorse at all for what she did.”
Another penned: “FFS Daisy showing her nasty side.” A third wrote: “Daisy in villain mode it’s actually fun, also Bethany is f*****g annoying.” And another echoed: “I love deluded villain Daisy!”
While another fan showed support and wrote: “I love Daisy regardless! Can’t wait for revenge Daisy style.”
But although fans were happy to see Carla now in charge of the Rovers, some viewers still had questions. One fan said: “Now that Daisy is sacked from the Rovers, will she end up working at the Florists?
“Although how can Carla fire Daisy anyway? It may be her money they used, but to everyone else on the the street, it was Jenny and Daisy who bought the pub. It’s their sign on the door.”
