Corrie fans ‘work out’ who’s behind Bethany credit card fraud – and it’s not Lauren
Corrie’s Bethany Platt has found out someone has been fraudulently using her credit card - and while some fans reckon it’s missing Lauren Bolton, others think it’s someone completely different
Corrie fans have “rumbled” who is using Bethany Platt’s credit card.
The character, played by Lucy Fallon, recently returned to Weatherfield from London this year. But earlier this month, she found out she had been the victim of fraud.
Confused and furious, Bethany learned that someone had been using her old company credit card. She later found copies of the statements to prove she didn’t make the purchases – but was left even more stumped.
Sinister solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill) later offered to give Bethany legal advice about the credit card. And next week, things take a more suspicious turn.
In the cafe, Bethany shows the company credit card statement from Lazaret to Shona. Suspicious, she spots a supermarket transaction and suggests it might have been a ‘click and collect’ and Bethany should phone them in case there’s some CCTV footage.
However, while some fans think missing Lauren Bolton is behind the credit card fraud – other fans have ‘rumbled’ someone else: the character behind Lauren’s disappearance, Joel.
Lauren went missing this year and is presumed dead. Despite a range of suspects, it was revealed that her attacker was actually Joel.
Now, fans reckon Joel is using Bethany’s card in a bid to continue with his evil double life. Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “Who’s stolen Bethany’s credit card she shouldn’t even have?”
A second replied and proclaimed: “Joel Joel Joel!!!!” Someone else agreed and penned: “I think Joel used Bethany’s credit card?” Someone else wrote: “That’s very possible as it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s trying to frame Bethany.”
Corrie fans aficionados know all too well that Joel is the one who actually attacked Lauren Bolton, played by Cait Fitton, who’s now mysteriously vanished from the street.
