Corrie Joel’s blackmailer identity ‘revealed’ – but fans fear ‘she’ll come to a sticky end’
Corrie baddie Joel Deering was threatened by Sabrina Adetiba’s mystery pal recently and now fans of the soap have "rumbled" her real identity - and she has links to the cobbles
Coronation Street fans have “worked out” who Joel’s blackmailer really is – and it’s bad news.
As fans will recall, the sinister solicitor (Calum Lill ) was revealed as Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) mystery attacker last month. The troubled youngster went missing earlier this year and is presumed dead.
Although soap favourite Roy Cropper (David Neilson) was put behind bars for her murder, bent copper Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) planted Lauren’s DNA in paedophile Nathan Curtis’s (Christopher Harper) van and framed him.
But in reality, viewers learned the truth about Lauren’s disappearance: she was actually beaten to death by sicko solicitor Joel. Since then, Joel has been carrying on as normal and is currently preparing to tie the knot with fiancee Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown).
However, in recent episodes, he has grown closer to Max Turner’s on-off girlfriend Sabrina. In a state of distress outside the police station, Sabrina caught the attention of Joel and he learned that her brother had been arrested. Quick to offer his help, Joel handed her his business card and told her to give him a call.
And during Monday’s episode (June 24) Joel took Sabrina out for coffee – where he tempted her with alcohol. Trying to impress Sabrina, Joel left her flattered as he told her she reminded him of an ex and that he was “punching” with his former partner.
Sabrina’s pal soon pointed out how Joel was a creep and that she should stay clear. The pal took his card and pretended to chuck it away – only to actually keep it.
Later on, though, the mystery youngster confronted Joel and attempted to blackmail him. Warning she has a “big gob” the newcomer threatened to expose Joel for his creepy behaviour.
Now, fans of the soap reckon they have sussed who the newcomer could be. Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “ Sabrina’s mate looks a lot like DS Swain, is this her daughter? It’s gonna go down for Joel in #Corrie!”
A second added: “Just a thought, what if Sabrina’s mystery unnamed friend (the one who is blackmailing Joel) is Betsy – DS Swain’s daughter?” A third penned: “Swains daughter 100%” while someone else added: “As a guess DS swains daughter as she is supposed to be appearing.”
Other viewers reckon the newcomer will be Joel’s next victim too. One wrote: “Oh sh*t, Sabrina’s mate is next #Corrie.” Someone else added: “Sabrina’s mate gonna come to a sticky end.” A third agreed: “Sabrina’s mate will be Joel’s next victim #Corrie.”
