Corrie Joel’s ex Emily real identity ‘revealed’ in DNA twist as she’s ‘related’ to resident
Corrie's Joel Deering and ex-wife Emily have got plenty of people suspicious - but some fans claim they have sussed the pair out and ‘rumbled’ a huge revenge twist on Dee-Dee
Coronation Street fans are certain Joel Deering’s ex Emily “isn’t really his wife” as they predict a huge revenge twist.
Duty solicitor Joel, played by Calum Lill, rocked up the cobbles last year. And straight away he became a love interest for fellow solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown).
But fans of the long-running ITV soap have been left rather suspicious over Joel and his intentions with Dee-Dee. Things then took a more suspicious turn when Joel was confronted by a mystery woman called Emily.
Evidence suggested he was cheating and playing away, but last week he was forced to confess the truth. He dropped two huge bombshells on Dee-Dee as he confirmed he was secretly married.
He also revealed he has a one-year-old baby daughter with his estranged wife Emily – and the pair are said to be planning to divorce. Joel said they split 18 months ago.
He was then forced to reveal he actually cheated on Emily while she was pregnant with his child. And it ended with her kicking him out of their home.
During Monday’s episode (February 26) Emily went and paid Dee-Dee a visit herself where she insisted everything Joel told her was true. But now, some fans reckon the pair are lying and aren’t even exes or former lovers.
On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one viewer mused how Emily could be secretly related to Dee-Dee and wants “revenge.”
They said: “I’m wondering if Joel’s mystery woman Emily is somehow connected to Ed and DeeDee, maybe she’s his long daughter from an affair and Joel is her adopted brother, she wants revenge for being left just a theory.”
Someone else penned: “I was wondering along that line. Could be Ed or Aggie from way back.” A third quipped: “I did think something like that as well! She’s definitely not his ex.”
Other fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, think Joel and Emily are plotting against Dee-Dee. The viewer wrote: “Why do I think that isn’t Joel’s wife but is his business partner and they trying to get inside knowledge of the law firm where Dee Dee works and he is using her.”
Other viewers warned Dee-Dee with one commenting: “I’ve crossed paths with a few Joel’s, they never end well.” Another mused: “Only got Joel’s word that he & his wife have been split up for 18 months, so i’d take that with a pinch of salt if I was Dee Dee.”
