Corrie reveals who attacked Mason in shock twist as he’s left battered and bloodied
Coronation Street's Mason has made plenty of enemies on the soap - but amid his return to the cobbles he was brutally attacked, with one character responsible for the brutality
The attacker of Corrie’s bad boy Mason Radcliffe has been unmasked amid his return.
The Weatherfield menace, portrayed by actor Luca Toolan, first burst onto the scene last year, stirring up trouble and leaving viewers gobsmacked with his menacing antics. The lad became infamous for his cruel treatment of Maria Connor’s (played by Samia Longchambon) son Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall).
Mason’s reign of terror over his schoolmates earned him a fearsome rep, both in the classroom and beyond. The plot thickened to boiling point when he brandished a blade at poor Liam.
Liam was pushed to the brink, even contemplating suicide due to the relentless bullying. But justice seemed to be served when Mason was carted off to a Young Offenders institution in April after the knife-wielding incident.
At the trial, Dylan mustered the courage to stand against Mason, delivering testimony that helped lock him away. Fast forward to this week on the cobbles, and the notorious bully is back, fresh out of juvie, reports the Express.
In Monday’s episode (July 20), Stu (Bill Fellows) stumbles upon a beaten and bloodied Mason near the precinct. Clueless about Mason’s dark past, Stu probes into the lad’s recent beating.
Mason spills the beans, blaming one of his brothers “One or the other, I’ve got two,” he says. Taking pity on the roughed-up youth, Stu invites Mason back to Speed Daal for a bit of TLC and a bite to eat.
Fans have flocked to their keyboards to sound off on Mason’s return in tonight’s episode. One tweeter didn’t mince words: “Mason’s had a right good beating. I’ve got zero sympathy for that nasty piece of work! “.
Another viewer dropped their two cents, saying: “Not sure why they decided to run Mason’s story again. He’ll never change. He’ll be a repeat offender. Character should never have come back.”
Meanwhile, another chimed in with: “There’s no storyline in the world that is gonna make me feel sorry for Mason. Absolutely not.”
