Coronation Street fans are convinced they have worked out the identity of Tyrone Dobbs' real father, after his mum Cassie Plummer made a shocking confession to grandma Evelyn
Coronation Street viewers are worried they’ve uncovered a disturbing twist in the ITV soap, speculating about the identity of Tyrone Dobbs’ biological father.
During a previous episode, Tyrone’s mother Cassie Plummer revealed the truth about his parentage to her own mum Evelyn Plummer. However, her vague explanation about Tyrone’s real father has left fans uneasy.
Cassie confessed to Evelyn that she became pregnant after sleeping with a man who had paid her for sex. She admitted her past involvement in sex work as a teenager, coerced by an older man she was in love with into sleeping with his friends for money.
Evelyn was shocked, completely unaware of what her daughter had gone through years ago due to their strained relationship. When asked by Evelyn if one of the men she slept with was Tyrone’s father, Cassie confirmed it, reports the Mirror.
Although she didn’t reveal any names or details about the man, she seemed to confirm it wasn’t the older man she was involved with. She also didn’t clarify whether she knew who it was or not, but her comments about Tyrone’s father have left fans concerned.
Corrie viewers were left gobsmacked as Cassie dropped another bombshell on Evelyn, revealing her dad discovered her secret sex work and pregnancy, giving her a slap and accusing her of bringing shame upon the family. He insisted she keep mum about the baby and her job.
Evelyn was left reeling, trying to piece together why her late husband had hidden such explosive secrets from her. She did eventually find out about Cassie’s teen pregnancy, but fans are now suspecting a dark twist, with some fearing Cassie’s father might also be Tyrone’s.
Some viewers believe an existing character will discover he is Tyrone’s father, while others predict the mystery man will soon make an appearance on the Cobbles. Tyrone, who has never met his dad and is also unaware of his identity, remains in the dark along with the audience.

On a Facebook Corrie fan page, one person said: “My theory is .. Cassie has had an agenda all along. When she arrived on the street both she and Kevin seemed to recognise each other- a one night stand way back and Tyrone was the result of that encounter.
“She has been consistently trying to win favour with Kevin but causes trouble for Abby at every opportunity in the hope of ousting her out. I think Cassie wants her happy ever after as Mrs Webster, owning the business with Kevin and their son as a family.”
“Kevin might be a scruffy little hot head but he does come with a house and business so this is what makes him all the more attractive to Cassie!”
Someone else added: “I must admit that when Cassie and Kev were first introduced to each other, Kev did react as though he knew her and I wondered if it might turn out that Kev was Tyrone’s father..”
