Corrie’s Bethany ‘in danger’ as cobbles villain return ‘sealed’ – but it’s not Nathan

Coronation Street‘s Bethany Platt could be in in serious danger – with a cobbles villain “set to return”.

The character, played by Lucy Fallon, made her return to the famous cobbles at the New Year after a few years away. And it’s fair to say she’s caused nothing but drama since.

Over in Weatherfield recently, the journalist was looking to write a story about the far-right extremist scandal that happened on the street in 2022. In a bid to get the scoop, Bethany then spoke to Lauren Bolton – whose dad Reece Bolton was a member of a far-right group.

The baddie manipulated Lauren and Max Turner with his racist views in a hard-hitting storyline. Reece is currently in prison for his involvement in Griff’s extremist group. But fans reckon she could be in cahoots with him.

But due to Lauren needing some cash, this week in Coronation Street, she ended up giving Bethany some contacts from her dad’s group. But the move seemed to backfire on the blonde bombshell Bethany.

After she approached the contacts for comment, she received some sinister messages back. However, Bethany wasn’t phased and went ahead with the article despite it unsettling those it is about.

And things are going to take a dramatic turn in upcoming episodes when Bethany starts to receive more messages. What’s more, Lauren appears to go missing.

Some fans reckon it is past character Nathan Curtis who is out to get Bethany. Nathan groomed and raped Bethany in a sexual abuse storyline in 2017.

However, AI claims there are other “reasons” why it might actually be Lauren’s dad Reece Bolton who is targeting Bethany after she got in touch with his contacts. Daily Star has quizzed one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tools, Gemini, to see if Reece could be after Bethany.

The program responded: “Bethany has helped Lauren Bolton, Reece’s daughter, with a story about her experience in a far-right group. This could have put Bethany on Reece’s radar, especially if he disapproves of Lauren’s actions or feels she’s being exploited.”It also pointed out the character’s “motivations.” The system said: “Reece has been shown to be impulsive and protective of his sister. He could view Bethany as a threat to Lauren.”
