Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) is set to face a devastating loss in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.
Stu has been caring for granddaughter Eliza Woodrow (Savannah Kunyo) ever since her mother was sent to prison, but the arrival of her dad Dom threw a spanner in the works.
Dom and Stu embarked on a bitter battle for custody, but soon Stu came up with a plan to get rid of Dom for good.
After paying Dom to leave Eliza alone, Stu had a change of heart when he realised how abandoned she felt, and invited Dom back into their lives.
He agreed to let Eliza visit Dom in Germany, with the aim of her moving in with him should things work out well.
In upcoming scenes, Eliza returns from her trip and leaves Stu downcast when she reveals that she wants to make Germany her permanent home.
With Eliza set to leave for good, Stu takes it upon himself to prove how much she means to him, and soon reveals a tattoo on his arm of her name.
Hope Dobbs and Yasmeen Nazir (Isabella Flanagan and Shelley King) are left amused when Eliza points out that the ‘z’ is the wrong way round, but how will Stu react?.
Ahead of her move, Eliza meets with friends Hope and Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) and tells them how much she’ll miss them.
Will she come back to visit, or has Stu lost his granddaughter for good?
