Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) has been dealt a devastating blow in Coronation Street – just hours after finally getting to know his estranged birth family.
As viewers of the ITV soap know, Kit is Bernie Winter’s (Jane Hazlegrove) secret son, who has recently discovered who his birth mum is and is reluctant to form a relationship.
This week, his sister Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell), who is still unaware of his true identity, has found herself on the wrong side of the law – and to make matters worse, Kit is a copper!
Gemma found herself in a bit of a pickle when daughter Carys urgently needed new shoes. At the shoe shop, she was shocked to learn the shoes cost over £40, and decided to shoplift them instead.
Meanwhile, back at No. 5, Joseph (William Flanagan) had invited some mates over for tea, and when the parents arrived to pick them up – one of them was the owner of the shoe shop.
In tonight’s (28th July) episode, the police arrived and hauled her down to the station for questioning.
As she sat alone in the cell, Kit called in and she confessed her dire financial situation in the hope he could manage to get her off. Bernie had already asked her son for a favour, and he said he’d considerate if she promised to keep away.
Heading down to the shoe shop, Kit blackmailed the owner into dropping his charges and then delivered the good news to Gemma.
Brother and sister shared a sweet moment chatting on Maxine’s bench on the street, and she invited him back to her house for a drink to thank him for helping.
Sadly not. A phone call from his adoptive dad to inform him that his mum had passed away stopped him in his tracks, and he darted out, guilt-ridden that he’d missed out on precious time with the family that raised him.
Bernie raced after him and following a heated confrontation, he agreed to come clean to Gemma and Paul… but it soon became clear that he had another ulterior motive.
What has Kit got planned?
