Evelyn Plummer makes a devastating discovery about daughter Cassie in Coronation Street

LAUREN Bolton’s disappearance and presumed murder is unearthing bad memories for Cassie Plummer.
The troubled Coronation Street character shocks her close circle when she reveals something about her past.
The search for missing wayward teen Lauren Bolton continues next week, particularly as the police believe she could have been murdered after finding traces of blood in her flat.
Confronted with new evidence, the authorities quickly found a suspect and Roy Cropper was arrested.
To make matters worse, Roy was then targeted by online trolls, breaking the hearts of those around him.
Coming up on ITV, Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher), Carla Connor (Alison King), Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll), Max Turner (Paddy Bever), Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman), Asha Alahan (Sair Khan) and Roy Cropper (David Neilson) join together for Lauren’s vigil in the precinct.
But when Roy addresses the crowd and speaks fondly of Lauren and how much she meant to him, some lads make nasty comments and film him on their phones.
In later scenes, Evelyn, Carla and Nina urge Roy to keep a low profile until the police find out who really killed Lauren.
Despite their pleas, Roy remains resolute.
In the café, Nina confides in Carla how worried she is for Roy – what will the businesswoman do?
Meanwhile, Evelyn gets a shock when she comes across an article online describing Lauren as a sex worker.
Roy is adamant he doesn’t want to know the details but the discovery shakes up Evelyn’s troubled daughter Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney).
Cassie was first introduced last year as Tyrone Dobbs’ estranged mother, believed to be dead.
It was then revealed that, while away from Tyrone for decades, Cassie had lived a life of squander and constant setbacks, which included an addiction to drugs.
Later on next week at No.9, Cassie reads the article about Lauren’s sex work and she admits to Tyrone (Alan Halsall) it brings back some awful memories for her.
Cassie is angry when she finds Evelyn and Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) discussing Lauren in the shop.
When Tyrone reveals that Cassie once had to resort to sex work, his wife Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) and Evelyn are stunned.
But does Tyrone know the full story?

What will Evelyn do once she knows how much Cassie must have gone through while away?
