Evelyn Plummer tells big lie to save Roy Cropper from jail in Coronation Street spoiler video – but is caught

Roy Cropper (David Neilson) is in quite the sticky situation in Coronation street, having been arrested for Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) murder.

Unfortunately, things are set to get even worse for the cafe owner when DS Swain (Vicky Myers) comes knocking again in a new spoiler video, following a complaint against him.

Carla Connor (Alison King) and Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) are left frustrated when DS Swain arrives at the flat, demanding to speak to Roy.

The detective wastes no time in getting down to business and reveals that Alice McDowd has filed a complaint against him.

Evelyn is quick to leap to Roy’s defence, explaining that she had been threateningly pushing her phone in Roy’s face, before accidentally falling over.

DS Swain makes it clear that this is a serious matter, as Alice is currently being treated for a head injury.

Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) can’t help but make a dig, pointing out that she seems to be well enough to post on her blog ‘every five minutes’.

DS Swain brushes off the comment and asks again to speak to Roy, but is taken aback when Evelyn makes an off-hand remark admitting to the crime.

Everyone seems confused as Evelyn concocts a story, informing DS Swain that she pushed Alice in defence of Roy, so it is her that should be getting arrested.

Unfortunately, Roy soon appears and sets the record straight, admitting that Evelyn had nothing to do with the fall and that he was responsible.

DS Swain remains serious as she informs him that they must continue this line of questioning at the police station.

Is Roy about to get in even bigger trouble?
