Four explosive ITV Coronation Street theories: killer exposed, new family and secret brother is introduced
Corrie revisits a forgotten crime this week.
WALLS are closing in on Mason Radcliffe after he spent months tormenting Liam Connor.
Meanwhile in Coronation Street, one fan favourite character could face a murder accusation and heartbreak is brewing.
1. Villainous family introduced
Mason (portrayed by Luca Toolan) has been trying to drag Dylan (Liam McCheyne) down with him for months.
But in scenes due to air on ITV, everything unravels for Dylan as he realises Mason is only in it for himself.
Once he’s able to swallow the hard truth, Dylan decides to do what is right by turning on his pal… and revealing his involvement in Eliza Woodrow’s hit and run.
Coming up, under pressure, Liam admits to his stepfather Gary Windass (Mikey North) and mother Maria (Samia Longchambon) that Mason threatened him with a knife.
They take a terrified Liam to the police station to report the crime, where Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) and another officer call at No.11.
They proceed to tell Dylan’s father Sean Tully (Antony Cotton), Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) and Dylan that they have reason to believe they’re hiding a zombie knife that was used in an assault but the knife can’t be found.
Dylan insists he knows nothing about it, terrified, but in later scenes, Mason orders him to get the knife and meet up with him in the ginnel.
Later on, Dylan waits nervously while Craig spots and approaches him before finding the knife in Dylan’s bag.
The youngster is immediately arrested and realises, much to his horror, that Mason set him up to cover his tracks.
Once at the police station, Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) joins Sean and Dylan in the interview room.
She impresses upon a terrified Dylan that it’s time to stand up to Mason and tell the police everything he knows.
Unable to believe his son could be up to no good unless he was under someone else’s influence, Sean is defensive of Dylan as Eileen and George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) ask questions.
After Dee-Dee tells Dylan he needs to think about his plea, he bumps into Liam and apologises for bullying him.
He’s then horrified when Liam tells him he contemplated suicide but can both boys ever truly put the past behind them?
While this remains to be seen, Mason later finds Dylan in Victoria Garden and thanks him for taking the rap.
Unfortunately, Dylan is done enabling him and makes it clear that the rift between them could be permanent.
Dylan looks at Mason with contempt and tells him that he told the police about the hit and run too, hinting huge trouble for the bully.
This could then lead Mason’s troublesome family to be introduced themselves down the line as actor Luca Toolan explained what his alter ego faces behind closed doors.
“It’s always been for him that the weak are preyed on”, he revealed.
“He is the weak in his family. He is being preyed on by his family members so in return he lashes out and repeats what he’s seen in family settings.”
“He’s putting on this façade but deep down he’s just a scared little boy.”
What do soap bosses have in store for the storyline?
2. Surprise sibling
Elsewhere in the cobbles, one return could spell devastation for Stu Carpenter.
The Speed Daal chef played by Bill Fellows took in his granddaughter Eliza Woodrow (Savannah Kunyo) after her mother was incarcerated for murder but she’s been keen to reconnect with her father Dom Everett (Darren Morfitt).
After a hit and run which left her in hospital, Stu tried to come to an agreement with Dom who eventually agreed to back off and let his own daughter go if the Speed Daal chef paid him off.
Dom did a disappearing act on Eliza for the generous sum of £10k and the young girl was heartbroken to have been abandoned once again.
However, this week, Stu’s partner Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) tells a mystified Stu that she’s certain she spotted Dom in the precinct.
Answers come straight to Stu later on when Dom reveals he wants to return his £10k.
However, he adds that he’d prefer it if Eliza knew nothing about his visit as it would only upset her all over again.
While viewers may have to wait before they can know what Dom is up to, one soap watcher theorised he could be introducing Eliza to her long-lost sibling in upcoming scenes.
“I think Dom will be back, but he’ll bring back Eliza’s half brother with him”, they wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Could they be on to something?
Could Eliza then leave with Dom and half-brother?
3. Murder twist
Fears are growing for the safety of Weatherfield teen Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).
After getting the boot from Roy Cropper’s café, the wayward character decided to leave the cobbles behind for a fresh start.
Prior to her disappearance, Lauren was also trying to avoid a persistent ex-boyfriend, much to Bobby Crawford’s annoyance.
Since she’s vanished, Bobby (Jack Carroll) has been looking for clues in the Street and even reported Lauren missing.
Coming up, the lad records an appeal with Suki from the local Gazette in order to find Lauren.
Roy Cropper (David Neilson) gets involved but when he’s interviewed by Suki, his appeal proves to be underwhelming and Bobby listens in despair.
Later on, Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman), who had to leave No.9 following Fiz Stape’s return to the cobbles, apologetically tells Roy that she’s had to let Lauren’s flat go as the landlord found out she’d been sub-letting it.
Full of certainty, despite the circumstances, Roy assures her that Lauren will be fine and he’s convinced that she’s started afresh somewhere new.
As mentioned above, Lauren was booted out of Roy’s Rolls but, later on, the café owner felt guilty for firing her and dropped her wages off at her home.
Once there, Lauren expressed her desire to move on from Weatherfield after a string of tough months which involved her signing up for sex work website O-Vidz, in a bid to make ends meet.
In other scenes, when Roy discovers Evelyn is going to get charged for the terrible state Lauren’s flat has been left in, he takes responsibility for cleaning it up – and getting rid of any evidence that could help the search for Lauren.
But Bobby is deeply suspicious when he discovers Roy in the flat going through Lauren’s things.
Later, Bobby calls at No.8 and fills Max Turner (Paddy Bever) in on his search for Lauren.
When Max tells him that Lauren had two O-Vidz accounts and Ryan Connor reported her for the first one, Bobby’s intrigued.
Bobby starts his search on the platform before telling his aunt Carla Connor (Alison King) and Ryan (Ryan Prescott) that someone called DirtyNigel54 posted online that they’ve spotted Lauren and he’s off to meet them to find out more.
What will he figure out?
Viewers have taken to social media with many speculating that Roy, despite being one of Corrie’s longest-standing residents and a firm favourite among fans, could have something to do with Lauren’s disappearance.
Could Roy have murdered the teen?
Social media users believe that, due to actor David Neilson filming scenes in court alongside a handful of his soap co-stars, Roy may be accused of killing Lauren or, at the very least, making her disappear.
Roy was the last Weatherfield resident Lauren seemingly spoke to prior to her disappearance.
One viewer was adamant on X: “That Roy must have something to do with blondie’s disappearance. He’s long overdue a spell in prison. It’s the Corrie way of life.”
“You’ve killed her Roy”, another watcher added as a third asked: “Roy is meant to be in court soon according to recent filming. I wonder if this has anything to do with Lauren?”
4. Heartbreak ahead
Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) paid Damon’s brother Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) a visit in prison, where the criminal was sent after he murdered Natasha Blakeman.
n a shock twist, Adam agreed to go against the law and help Harvey get out by framing another willing man called John for Natasha’s death.
But his rage against Damon and despair weren’t enough to keep him committed to the deal as Adam backtracked.
Unfortunately for him, Harvey isn’t one to easily forgive and forget, particularly when his freedom is at the core of his concerns.
This week, after signing the divorce papers for Sarah (Tina O’Brien) a sad and guilty Adam decides to delete Harvey’s appeal document.
He then places the USB of the CCTV footage, which proved John’s alibi meaning he could have never murdered Natasha, in a jiffy bag and marks it “The murder of Natasha Blakeman.”
It isn’t long before an angry Harvey calls him aware that the police have the CCTV footage and he tells Adam to watch his back.
Adam then calls at Sarah’s flat and tells her he doesn’t want a divorce, he still loves her and wants them to try again.
A shocked Sarah runs out of the flat and, seeing her mother upset, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) heads over… just as a car accelerates towards them.
Later on, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) and Adam later find themselves in hospital.
The teacher rails at a guilt-ridden Adam for getting involved with Harvey and unwillingly placing targets on both Sarah and Bethany.
Back on the street, Ken Barlow (William Roache) is shocked to discover how Adam’s actions have affected everyone.
Meanwhile, Damon Hay (Ciarán Griffiths) is confident that Harvey will back off after a stern conversation with his sibling.
But in a recent interview, actress Tina O’Brien hinted that Sarah and Damon’s relationship may be headed towards the rocks as the thug may not be able to stick to the straight and narrow for very long.
“She’s moving very fast. If I was her friend I’d be having strong words with her”, Tina said.
“She’s very impulsive. She thinks the feelings are love but maybe it’s more that she’s swept up in the romance and the lust. So definitely I’m concerned for her.”
She added that her concerns are mostly due to Damon potentially being unable to let go of the life of crime he picked for himself.
“Sarah is totally thinking Damon has changed. It’s a case of: ‘He’s told me this, so therefore he is’.”
“Yes I am, I’m really worried. I do truly believe that Damon’s got her best interests at heart.”
“I believe he means what he says to her, but unfortunately with the life he’s led and the people that he knows, the temptations to get involved in something dodgy could be too great.”
And with Harvey set to wreak havoc again, the possibility of Damon putting himself and Sarah in danger is great.
