‘It’s my greatest honour’ says Coronation Street’s Antony Cotton as he reveals huge new role away from the cobbles
The star has posted a statement about the new role on social media
ANTONY Cotton has revealed a brand new role worlds away from the Coronation Street cobbles.
The soap star, 49, has been a permanent fixture in Weatherfield for the past 21 years.
He plays the flamboyant and lovable Sean Tully, who is father to Dylan Wilson.
But taking to social media, Antony has shared a new role with his followers.
He’s revealed he’s joined the Royal British Legion.
Posting a snap on Instagram stories, he explained: “It is with huge pride that I have accepted the position to be President of the St James Royal British Legion @royalbritishlegion.
“I look forward to both the changes we can make, and the challenges the role will bring.
“Working for our Armed Forces is my greatest honour.”
Antony’s involvement with the British military since 2008.
In 2022, he was awarded an MBE from the late Queen for his services to the British Army, personnel and veterans.
Antony recently revealed his secret side hustle, as he told fans he was renting out a stunning three-bedroom property in Scarborough on AirBNB.
Alongside pictures of the property’s interior, Antony wrote on Instagram: “Coming soon to Scarborough – a luxury three bedroom, three bathroom townhouse to enjoy, for a break away on the Yorkshire Riviera!”
