ITV Coronation Street character makes alarming discovery that could change everything
One Coronation Street character makes a worrying discovery next week that could see a storyline take a new turn on the ITV soap.
The show’s cult storyline will at some point come to an end with villain Rowan Cunliffe facing a downfall it seems. But it’s not yet clear when this will be, while spoilers for next week’s episodes have teased a twist.
There’s a moment for Amy Barlow that leaves her in turmoil, with Leanne Battersby expected to pick up the pieces. But prior to this, she makes a big discovery about Rowan that could change everything.
Viewers know that scammer Rowan recently reeled in Leanne, encouraging her to join and invest in his ‘self-improvement’ institute. He told her his methods would help her deal with her trauma, and now she’s been tasked with recruiting others.
Amy Barlow is Rowan’s latest victim, with her now considering investing too. But next week she appears to change her mind as she’s left distressed over an incident with the group.
During an ‘upload session, Leanne urges her to relive her trauma in order to banish the negativity. Amy will detail her past trauma, including her rape ordeal, with Leanne and Rowan in the room.

But Leanne is left shocked and troubled when she realises Rowan is recording everything Amy is saying. What she doesn’t know yet is that he did the same to her months earlier, recording her tearfully opening up about her past.
So will this be the moment Leanne realises something is not right and that Rowan is bad news? Later in the week, Amy is prepared for a ‘malware session’ but it all gets too much for her and she runs out.
Despite Leanne urging her to continue, Amy breaks down and flees in terror. Soon her mother Tracy Barlow is involved, and she wants to expose Rowan.
Rowan then turns sinister and tells Leanne she needs to sort out the mess and prove her loyalty to him and the institute. She’s torn given her relationship with Amy, but will she finally betray Rowan and reveal all to the others?
