ITV Coronation Street fans left distracted as ‘new set suddenly appears’

Coronation Street fans were left seriously distracted on Tuesday night over a “new set” on the ITV soap.

During the latest episode, Bethany Platt told Daniel Osbourne that she was determined to get on better with his ex Daisy Midgeley, suggesting she was going to pop over and see if she needed any help preparing for their dinner party. Later, at the Rovers, Bethany persuaded a reluctant Daisy to let her help with the cooking.

Bethany has been suspicious over how Daisy and Jenny Connor managed to buy the pub, soap fans will recall that the latter duo used money from the late Stephen Reid’s accounts, where he had stole from Carla Connor’s factory accounts, to buy the iconic boozer with every intention of eventually paying back an oblivious Carla.

While Daisy was distracted on Tuesday night, Bethany turned up the heat on the apple pie and upon discovering the pudding was now burnt to a crisp, Daisy headed out to buy a replacement. This left Bethany alone with Ryan and when the latter was called through to the bar, Bethany seized the opportunity to rifle through drawers, finding Stephen’s journal.

This resulted in Bethany later showing Stephen’s journal and confronting Daisy at the dinner party, accusing her of stealing money to buy the pub with a sheepish Daisy denying the accusation and Daniel scolding Bethany thinking she was wrong, insisting they leave.

However, soap watchers were left utterly distracted during the scenes as they were shocked over the size of the kitchen, claiming it was new and had “suddenly appeared” in the Rovers. Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “I went to bed thinking about the Rovers kitchen. I woke up thinking about the Rovers kitchen. #Corrie”, a different account put: “Where did that kitchen come from in the back of #TheRoversReturn #Corrie @itvcorrie” while another added: “Where did The Rovers’ huge kitchen suddenly come from?”

Elsewhere, a different soap watcher put: “That massive kitchen turning up in the Rovers has been a highlight for me. It makes no sense compared to what we used to be able to see through the door from the living room, but STILL. #Corrie”, another wrote: “Why have we never seen that kitchen in the pub before it never used to be that big did it? Looks like a proper restaurant. #Corrie”, a different account put: “I have far too many questions about that kitchen in the Rovers #Corrie” while another added: “Blimey, where did that proper kitchen in the Rovers suddenly appear from….don’t think we’ve seen it before. #corrie.”

However, soap fans will recall that the Rovers spent the majority of the time shut last year as it underwent refurbishments prior to reopening on New Year’s Eve with new owners Daisy and Jenny so it’s highly likely a new kitchen would be fitted. One soap fan pointed this out, writing: “The pub was revamped over several months of closure and they extended the kitchen, it’s no big deal! #Corrie!”
