ITV Coronation Street fans ‘rumble’ Joel Deering’s secret sibling in major soap twist
Coronation Street viewers are convinced that villainous lawyer Joel Deering has a secret sibling - and it's someone we already know from the cobbles
Corrie buffs reckon Joel Deering might just have a secret sib lurking around the cobbles, and it’s a face we’re all familiar with.
The dodgy solicitor, brought to life by Callum Lill, rocked up last year, but only recently did his shady side come out when he was pegged as the bloke behind Lauren Bolton’s vanishing act, with Cait Fitton playing the missing lass.
Thought to be pushing up daisies, Lauren shocked everyone by popping back up on the street, leaving Joel gobsmacked. She then lobbed another shocker – she was preggers with his kid.
Joel’s been scrambling to keep her schtum since, offering her digs in his vacated pad and promising to bankroll her Irish getaway for a new start. He’s got until 12 August to sort it.
Liverpool Echo reports Joel’s true colours showed when he was caught on a sneaky search for “What drugs can induce premature labour?”.
Now, the Corrie fanatics are piecing together that this Lauren drama might tie into another gut-wrencher: the cult nightmare with Leanne Battersby, played by Jane Danson, under the thumb of cult boss Rowan, played by Emrhys Cooper.
As we all recall, Leanne’s been sucked into some dodgy “self-help” mob run by the creepy Rowan. This lot’s cut her off from her nearest and dearest, including sis Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor) and her other half Nick (Ben Price).
Coronation Street viewers have a theory that Joel and Rowan could be in cahoots, or even be siblings, in a shocking DNA bombshell.
On a Coronation Street forum, one fan speculated: “Does anyone think the two ‘main’ storylines (The Institute and Lauren) could interlink. Or maybe Rowan is Joel’s brother or someone from his past.”
Agreeing with this theory, another fan stated: “I’ve always thought this! ” Another chimed in with: “Rowan and Joel do look alike, probably both working together.”
