ITV Coronation Street fans ‘rumble’ real father of Alina’s son as she flees the cobbles
Alina made the difficult decision to flee from Coronation Street this Friday after she was brutally attacked, leaving her son Dorin behind. Fans still think he isn't Tyrone's son.
Coronation Street fans know who Dorin’s father really is – and it’s still not Tyrone or anybody on the cobbles.
Many theories have swirled online among Coronation Street fans about the paternity of Alina Pop’s (portrayed by Ruxandra Porojnicu) son in recent weeks, despite the fact that Dorin was confirmed to be the result of her affair with Weatherfield stalwart Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall).
During this Friday’s trip to the cobbles (August 23) aired on ITV, Alina wasn’t exempted from any theories as multiple fans still question whether the beloved mechanic really is Dorin’s father.
But among the many comments that emerged on X, otherwise known as Twitter, a new theory suggests that Alina may have welcomed Dorin with another man during her time away from Corrie. To make matters worse, Dorin’s father could even be one of her former traffickers.

“How does Tyrone know that Dorin is even his child without a DNA test? Alina could just be saying what Tyrone wants to hear. It has been (3) years since she was last on the street”, one viewer first suggested. A second added: “Alina is going to die, then Tyrone will take Dorin in and then he will find out that he’s not his but Sebs and it will be Jack all over again.”
This prompted the third and final fan to add: “Bet Dorrin isn’t Ty’s; bet he’s one of the traffickers’.” Tyrone Dobbs, Seb Franklin and Adam Barlow were previously thought to have fathered Dorin due to Alina’s past with them.
Actress Ruxandra Porojnicu recently returned to the ITV drama three years after her last appearance as Alina Pop, which saw her embark on an affair with Tyrone Dobbs, who dumped his then-girlfriend, now-wife, Fiz Stape in order to be with her.
Alina’s life drastically changed during her absence as she bumped into Fiz on Freshco’s car park, telling her that she’d been called back to Weatherfield as a witness to a trial and it was later revealed that she’d also given birth to Tyrone’s son.
But after receiving mysterious calls from an unknown person, it became clear Alina was in more trouble than she’d originally let on and scenes aired this Friday confirmed that danger may be looming on the horizon, while viewers at home have suspected she may even be killed off.
Cornered in her hotel room by an unknown brute, Alina was saved just in time by Ronnie Bailey, who’d been called in for some plumbing work. Shaken, and while Ronnie questioned her about the man who attacked her, Alina believed her best bet was to go on the run, leaving her son Dorin with Tyrone.
