Coronation Street fans believe they know who the ex-boyfriend of Lauren Bolton is on the ITV soap after the latest episode, and it might not be Tommy Orpington after all
Coronation Street viewers think they have worked out the identity of Lauren Bolton’s ex-boyfriend in a major return twist, ahead of new scenes.
Several fans now believe a former villain is heading back to the Cobbles and will be revealed as Lauren’s mystery harasse and exr, but it’s not killer Rob Donovan. Amid a theory it could actually be footballer Tommy Orpington who is involved with Lauren, fans are now suspecting someone else entirely will be revealed as the person in question.
It’s clear that Lauren is fearful of the ‘ex’ who keeps sending her gifts, and messaging and calling her phone. Lauren seems unnerved by the character, and the latest episode of the ITV soap saw her in tears as she begged the mystery person to leave her alone.
Then as the episode came to a close, Lauren seemed alarmed as she opened the door of her flat to a mystery person, seemingly her ex. Now, fans are suspecting former villain and rapist Nathan Curtis, who groomed and sexually abused Bethany Platt on the show in 2017, could have returned.

Viewers are wondering if he may have been released from prison and may be targeting young Lauren, following her posting videos on adult content site O-Vidz. Fans think he could be heading back to the street, and that it’s him who has been contacting Lauren constantly.
Taking to X, viewers shared their theories over the identity of Lauren’s ex-boyfriend as he continued to harass her. One fan posted: “am i deluded in being convinced that lauren’s ex is nathan curtis? idk how long he’s meant to be inside for but his possible return could tie in with whatever huge story bobby and bethany are involved in too?”
Many fans backed this theory, with one fan commenting: “This is deffo what I’m guessing,” as a third said: “THIS IS A SOLIDDDDD POINT. A fourth fan posted: “it would make a lot of sense considering the headlines saying it was going to be a grooming sl and they definitely timed it well with bethany’s return.”
It comes after the latest episode and recent scenes left fans wondering if returning character Tommy Orpington was the mystery man. Amid the character said to be having a big storyline, Lauren was seen wearing a Weatherfield County FC jacket, this being the football team Tommy played for.
Taking to X amid the theory about Nathan returning, some fans questioned if it was Tommy and not him.
