ITV Coronation Street Joel Deering’s final scenes ‘revealed’ as storyline takes darker turn
Joel Deering’s downfall is looming on Coronation Street – as his final scenes are ‘revealed’.
Calum Lill will no doubt be departing his role on the ITV soap soon when he is finally found out for what he did to Lauren Bolton. He attacked her and left her for dead, but she survived and ran away – but not before finding out she was pregnant with his baby.
She finally made her return to Weatherfield but has yet to tell anyone what Joel did to her, insisting she wouldn’t say what happened to her because Joel had promised to look after her and make sure her and the baby was safe.
However, she didn’t know he had been deliberately trying to make her lose the baby in harrowing scenes. However, she gave birth to her baby early and decided to call it Francis, with Joel even coming to visit the little one.
Actor Calum has now teased more about Joel’s departure from the Cobbles – and warned there were darker scenes ahead.
He said: “Obviously, I can’t say how far, but its further than I thought he would go. When I read it I was scared to even play it, because it was that dark! He’ll go to any lengths that he needs to.”
Calum also teased that there will be some big showdown scenes between him and Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling Brown) as both of them are skilled in the legal profession, leading to some incredible scenes.
He said: “The great thing is you’ve got two people who, for their job, they interrogate, they defend, they deflect and are going up against each other. So she cross-examines him, he’s coming up with excuses and deflecting, coming up with plausible things and trying to direct her in other ways. Interesting to watch play out, they are both very good at getting answers. It’s a battle of expertise.”
Whatever happens, it will no doubt be explosive scenes when Joel is finally caught out for his crimes. Next week, Dee-Dee is set to grow suspicious of Joel when she finds out his daughter never had a charm bracelet and she also finds out he is still paying rent on his old flat. Worried, she decides she needs to talk to him about what’s going on – but is she putting herself at risk?
