ITV Coronation Street Joel’s sick Lauren lie to be ‘rumbled’ after crucial ‘error’
Coronation Street viewers believe Joel Deering will be rumbled over his sickening lie about Lauren Bolton and her baby, after a past scene on the ITV soap
Coronation Street viewers think Joel Deering may have made a crucial mistake in his police interview that could see his crimes exposed.
The character was shown cruelly lying about Lauren Bolton in a recent episode in a bid to cover his tracks. He’s trying to frame her and his now ex Dee-Dee Bailey for his own crimes, after drama this week.
Joel’s lies were finally rumbled by Dee-Dee this week, as Lauren confessed all about their past romance, her attack and that Joel was the father of her baby son. Viewers know Joel coerced Lauren into a sexual relationship before attacking her and leaving her for dead earlier this year.
When Lauren returned to the show weeks ago, having been presumed dead, he convinced her to stay quiet about everything. Joel was found out this week though as Dee-Dee rumbled lie after lie, and Lauren confessed everything.
What she didn’t know at the time was that Joel had sickeningly drugged her with pills that caused her premature labour. Her son was born months before his due date, with evil Joel hoping the baby would not survive.

Since everything came out and Joel was accused of drugging Lauren, he’s tried to frame her instead. He told the police this week that Lauren knowingly took abortion pills and that she was lying about him being involved.
He lied that she didn’t want her baby and took the pills, before Lauren could tell the police about her suspicions he had drugged her. But some viewers think this lie could be what exposes Joel, after recalling a past scene.
Fans remembered that Joel had received the parcel containing the tablets at Dee-Dee’s address. They’d been addressed to a random name, only for Joel to be out of the house when they arrived.
Dee-Dee actually phoned Joel once the parcel had got there and wondered if there had been a mistake. Joel lied that it was for a client and he’d agreed to take in a parcel for her due to trouble at home.
Viewers now think the proof of this delivery will be what exposes Joel as being the one who purchased the pills. One fan said: “The pills were sent to Dee-Dee’s address,” as another wrote: “Hope Dee-Dee remembers that package Joel got.”
A third fan said: “Surely Dee-Dee will remember Joel getting a package under another name? When he bought those pills online.” However one fan pointed out that Dee-Dee signing for the parcel would only make her look guilty, and could give Joel the chance to claim she had purchased them for Lauren, not him.
