Coronation Street offered more insights into missing teenager Lauren Bolton on Friday night.
Only recently, Roy Cropper has found himself arrested, charged and the number one suspect for the supposed murder of missing teenager Lauren. Soap fans will recall that troubled youngster Lauren abruptly left the cobbles earlier this year and her friend Bobby Crawford has been left concerned after he found her flat unlocked with Lauren nowhere to be seen.
Viewers never saw Lauren leave and it seems she told no one close to her of her plan to leave Weatherfield aside from Roy. Bobby reported Lauren as missing to the police and Roy has found himself under suspicion due to his kind nature, especially after he was caught innocently cleaning Lauren’s flat, which some people thought proved he was guilty and internet sleuths have since made his life a misery with a barrage of online abuse.
Next week, soap watchers will be “hit with a bolt out of the blue” as a new piece of evidence reveals who Lauren’s killer really is. Ahead of the bombshell revelation, some viewers thing they’ve already figured out who Lauren’s killer is after a cryptic scene on Friday night.
During the latest instalment, David Platt had been hoovering when he came across a bag full of blonde hair dye and makeup under Max Turner’s bed. Max was left annoyed to find David with his belongings as he got defensive before admitting they’re Laurens, although he added “were Lauren’s”, insisting he wanted to keep them.
Soap fans will remember that Lauren first arrived in Weatherfield in 2022 after helping to recruit Max to an extremist far right gang, ran by the evil Griff. Max was initially interested in Lauren, but things soon fizzled out between the pair when the truth about the group’s plans were revealed.
Her dad Reece was one of the leaders of the group and she had been dragged into the whole thing alongside Max. Since then, Lauren had tried to turn her life around before her disappearance while Reece and Griff, who made a return on Friday night, were put in prison.
Taking to Twitter, now X, after Friday’s suspicious scene one person said: “I think max has taken Lauren.. why is there blonde hair dye under Max’s bed? Lauren is blonde maybe dyed blonde? That could be a big clue for next week… @itvcorrie #Corrie”, a different account put: “So Max had a box of Lauren’s hair dye and it was under his bed? Interesting #Corrie #CoronationStreet @itvcorrie” while another wrote: “Oh that’s suspicious Max #Corrie…”
