ITV Coronation Street Lauren kidnapper ‘sealed’ after ‘slip up’ — and it’s ‘not Bobby or Tommy’

Coronation Street fans are convinced they’ve figured out who is behind Lauren Bolton’s disappearance after one character appeared to “slip up” and drop a clue.

Only recently, Roy Cropper was wrongly arrested on Friday night on suspicion of murdering his former employee. Soap fans will recall that troubled youngster Lauren abruptly left the cobbles earlier this year and love interest Bobby has been left concerned after he found her flat unlocked with Lauren nowhere to be seen.

Soap fans never saw Lauren leave and it seems she told no one close to her of her plan to leave Weatherfield aside from Roy given she immediately vanished. Bobby reported Lauren as missing to the police and Roy has found himself under suspicion due to his kind nature, especially after he was caught innocently cleaning Lauren’s flat, which some people thought proved he was guilty.

Earlier this week, Max Turner overheard David and Shona Platt speculating whether Lauren’s dad’s far right group could be involved in her disappearance. Max decided to secretly pay Lauren’s dad Reece a visit in prison, where he grilled him about his daughter’s whereabouts and accidentally let slip that Roy had been wrongly suspected of Lauren’s murder. Reece had no clue where his daughter was and later Roy was held hostage at his café as two dodgy men, who were friends of Lauren’s dad Reece, interrogated him.

As well as Roy, police have been questioning Daniel Osbourne as he used to tutor Lauren. On Wednesday’s episode, Max decided to taunt Bethany Platt about Daniel being a suspect to which Daniel overheard and confronted the troubled teenager.

Daniel decided to play Max at his own game, suggesting he could actually be behind the disappearance and it’s the reason he’s trying to pin it on everyone else. Later, Daniel was left furious to learn he had been suspended from work as he confronted Max, who was defensive and argued back.

Meanwhile during the episode, some of Weatherfield’s residents decided to hold a vigil for Lauren, where Max spoke about Lauren in past tense and suggested they may never see Lauren again to which Bobby scolded him for speaking negatively. Soap watchers were left suspicious as they speculated whether Max could actually be behind Lauren’s disappearance after previously thinking it could be Bobby or Tommy Orpington.

Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “What was that Max? You know she’s not coming back. Why’s that then #Corrie”, a different account put: ““We’re not going to see her” ………….. Max do you know something everyone else doesn’t?!? #Corrie” while another viewer said: “How is Roy a suspect but Max isn’t? #Corrie”.

Elsewhere, a different account put: “Wonder if Max has something to do with it?? He’s very keen to throw other people under the bus!#Corrie”, another wrote: “Max has set this up #corrie” while a different fan added: “Daniel does have a point.. how comes Max isn’t being treated as a suspected? #Corrie.”

Meanwhile, some viewers think Bethany could be involved as Daniel said to her: “I don’t think Roy killed Lauren, do you?” to which Bethany paused before replying: “No” while looking suspicious. One soap watcher said: “Just putting it out there, but Bethany’s involved I think #corrie”, another put: “i was thinking that, the way she was talking it’s almost like Bethany knows Daniel’s innocent #Corrie” while a different fan added: “Bethany knows more, I’m certain #Corrie.”
