ITV Coronation Street rumble Lauren’s mystery partner in shocking police twist
Coronation Street fans are convinced they've worked out who Lauren Bolton's mystery partner is and it's someone very close to the case - and not Bobby, Max or Roy
Coronation Street fans are sure they’ve rumbled who Lauren Bolton’s mystery partner is.
The teenager has been missing for a number of weeks now and a police investigation has swiftly begun into Lauren’s disappearance, with the police now convinced she could be dead after a “violent” assault. Before she disappeared, Lauren decided to end things with an ex, who was clearly abusing her as she was seen with lots of bruises.
When Bobby tried to ask her where the bruises were from, she insisted it was nothing to worry about and refused to divulge who her ex was and what had happened between them and who they were.
Fans are now convinced they know who it is – and whilst many names have been discussed amongst fans, a new theory suggests none other than DS Swain herself could be Lauren’s mystery ex partner.
DS Swain has been leading the police investigation into Lauren’s disappearance
One fan wondered whether it was DS Swain that Lauren was speaking to and messaging, claiming that she looked “really suspicious” whenever Lauren was mentioned. Another fan responded to say that Swain’s behaviour with Roy hints that she is “in with the criminals”, with another wondering if that will form DS Swain’s upcoming romance storyline.
Vicky Myers – who plays DS Swain on the ITV soap – has become a popular character, with many viewers branding her “hot”. She said of the reaction to her time on the show so far: “I think it’s because she’s no-nonsense. She’s straight talking and doesn’t care about the other characters in the street. She’s there to do a job and she takes it seriously. She is who she is.”
Speaking about her character’s past history, she added: “We know that she has a daughter, a teenage daughter. Also, I’m not entirely sure if everybody knows this, she’s gay. I think for Swain, she perhaps has seen somebody that has caught her eye but at the moment she’s far too busy on focusing on this investigation, career and being a single mum.”
Lauren actress Cait Fitton has never identified who the mystery partner is – and has never referred to the partner as a man.
“There’s a lot of danger there. She’s a vulnerable 18 year-old-girl so she’s bound to make mistakes, but she’s still young. It’s a shock for Lauren because she blurts out [her secret] to Max, but Sabrina as well, and she’s not that close to Sabrina so it’s quite complicated. Even though she can’t accept it herself she’s expecting other people to, there will be a lot of danger ahead,” she told us.
