There could be some upsetting scenes on the way on Coronation Street, if a new theory is correct.
Amid a new mystery surrounding Chesney Brown on the ITV soap, fans think they’ve worked out what’s really going on. Viewers are predicting a new mental health focussed storyline for the long-serving character after worrying scenes in recent episodes.
Chesney has admitted that he’s struggling on numerous occasions, working two jobs to support his family including wife Gemma Winter and his five young children. With Gemma away from Weatherfiled for the time being, Chesney is struggling to care for his kids and work.
But things have worsened with someone seemingly out to get him after a recent run-in. Viewers may recall Chesney angered a mystery van driver last week when he blocked them in at a carpark.
The driver retaliated by scraping Chesney’s car, and later that week they nearly drove into Chesney and his vehicle. Chesney claimed it was the same person leaving his young son Joseph unnerved and watching from the window.
On Monday night things took a sinister turn when Chesney found that his tyres had been slashed. Amid his grief for his late stepfather Les Battersby, Chesney confided in sister Fiz Brown and revealed all about the ongoing drama with the van driver.

Chesney later spotted what he believed to be the same van again, this time parked outside the house. As Chesney tried to get a closer look the mystery driver fled.
He was clearly worried about who it was and what they wanted with him, but is there more to the storyline? Despite speculation it could be a past character or someone out to get Chesney, other fans believe it might not be what it seems.
With Chesney clearly struggling, viewers have questioned whether he may be imagining that he’s being harassed. Perhaps each time it’s been a different van and a different driver for each incident, and out of paranoia he’s convinced himself someone is out to get him. It seems the vans do exist, but some have questioned if it is all in his head.
One viewer said: “Chesney is dealing with burnout and the stalking paranoia is a symptom of this, I think Les dying at work will prompt some kind of male mental health storyline for Ches.” Another agreed: “They could introduce the ‘gang stalking delusion’ phenomenon regarding Ches’ storyline? That could be semi interesting? (If you’ve never heard of this btw I recommend looking it up if you want to fall down a rabbit hole. The delusion these people experience is very, very real to them and very scary).”
