ITV Coronation Street star Lauren Bolton’s life off-screen – from tragic loss to hidden talent
It's all about missing teenager Lauren Bolton on the cobbles this week as Coronation Street fans will finally learn what happened to the troubled youngster when she vanished
Coronation Street fans will finally get to the bottom of Lauren Bolton’s disappearance this week.
Actress Cait Fitton, who plays Lauren in the soap, joined the Corrie cast back in 2022 and has since been part of some gripping storylines. Earlier this year, the youngster abruptly vanished and Roy Cropper has found himself arrested and charged as the number one suspect in her case.
Away from the cameras, Cait lives a completely different life from her troublesome character and loves to dress up and get glam. Here, the Mirror takes a look at her career, co-star friends and incredible talent…
Cait is best known for her acting abilities, with her role in Corrie coming after appearances in Doctors and CBeebies show Gigglebiz – but she also has a gift for singing. The 22-year-old has previously shared a video of her singing on Instagram, wowing followers with a pitch-perfect rendition of Ben E. King’s Stand By Me.
The multi-talented soap star, who is originally from Middleton, Greater Manchester, captioned the post: “I feel beyond privileged to say my professional showreel has been filmed by @olibogroup and I am mega excited to share it with you guys!”
As much as she loves music, it would appear that a part in Corrie has always been her greatest dream. Speaking with The Sun back in August, Cait recalled: “The teacher asked us, ‘What do you want to be when you’re older?’ Children were saying ‘a fireman’ or ‘a nurse’, and I said, ‘I want to be in Coronation Street’. I remember all the teachers were amused, they couldn’t believe it. I watched it religiously.”
She added: “I loved Gail and Becky and Kylie and I’d think, ‘This is my dream’. I spent so long dreaming about it and wanted it so badly. Sometimes I’d despair and think it was never going to happen, but it just shows that if you fight and you work hard for your dreams, you can achieve.”

Cait regularly updates her followers on social media with snaps from behind the scenes on the soap, and counts Paddy Bever, who plays Max on the show, as one of her best friends, alongside Julia Goulding, who she said “took me under her wing”. “Everyone’s just been so nice. It’s been amazing. Everyone’s been so kind,” she said of her beloved Corrie family.
For life-long soap fan Cait, bagging the role of Lauren was a real ‘pinch me moment’, and her excitement was made clear in a celebratory Instagram post thanking her loved ones for their support. But sadly, not all were there to share her special news.
Cait wrote: “My younger self is screaming right now!!! I want to say a big thank you to all the cast and crew at @coronationstreet for inviting me in with open arms and making me feel so welcome! Thank you to my amazing agent Brooke Kinsella at @intertalentactors for constantly supporting me and always pushing me to achieve.”
Remembering family members who have passed on, she continued: “Also a massive thank you to my family and friends who have supported me throughout this process and been with me along the journey so far! I dedicate this role of achievement to my family who were huge fans of the show but unfortunately are no longer with me, but I know if they were, they’d be bursting at the seams!”
