ITV Coronation Street’s Bernie left reeling over discovery about secret son Kit
Coronation Street airs the moment Bernie Winter realises Christopher 'Kit' Green is her long-lost son on the ITV soap next week, as spoilers reveal a shocking discovery
Coronation Street spoilers reveal Bernie Winter makes a shocking discovery next week, as the truth about Kit Green’s identity is exposed.
Bernie is left reeling as she finally finds her secret son, having unknowingly met him during Monday night’s episode. Viewers know that Bernie was searching for the child she gave away almost 30 years ago, with his name being Zodiac.
His name had been changed to Christopher Green, and so Bernie searched high and low for people with this name that matched the age her son would be. Despite Kit claiming he was not her son and she’d got the wrong Christopher, it soon became clear to viewers that he was lying.
Next week, spoilers reveal that as Bernie remains unaware of Kit’s true identity, she comes face-to-face with him once more. But this time she makes a shocking discovery that changes everything.
Bernie is in the police station after a run-in with Kit earlier on in the day, with her car being towed away. As she vows to make a complaint about him she’s in for a shock as he’s there with Craig Tinker, but the shocks keep on coming.
Bernie realises it’s Kit’s birthday that day, the same birthday as her long-lost son. She finally realises that Kit is her son Zodiac, and she doesn’t know how to react. Later in the week, Kit shows his secret brother Paul Foreman kindness at the hospital, and word gets back to Bernie.
She heads back to the station to thank him, and implores him to hear her out. She wants to tell him her side of the story about what happened all those years ago, but will he listen?
Speaking about joining the show, actor Jacob Roberts said: “It’s absolutely amazing to be joining the cast of Coronation Street. When I walked on set for the first time it felt a bit overwhelming because the attention to detail is just incredible, it actually makes you feel that you are on a real street.
“My mum and dad are really chuffed too which is lovely. My mum has always watched Coronation Street, I’ve always kept up to date with it too, so it just feels surreal to be here. Meeting all of the cast and crew was great, I really do feel at home here.
“I’m looking forward to everyone meeting Kit but I do think he is going to be a very misunderstood character at first. He’s been really hurt throughout his life and although he has a good heart, he has some deep rooted resentment with his biological mum, Bernie, which will be really interesting to play out.”
