ITV Coronation Street’s Bethany Platt’s exit ‘sealed’ as fans ‘work out’ tragic twist
Coronation Street fans believe they’ve uncovered a plot twist involving Bethany Platt (played by Lucy Fallon).
Soap watchers will remember that the character made a comeback to the cobbles at the end of 2023 after a three-year absence. Bethany quickly reignited her romance with former flame Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), much to the anger of his ex-fiancée Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan).
During Bethany’s return, Daisy had recently been unfaithful to Daniel with Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott). This sparked a fresh love triangle as Daisy found it difficult to watch Daniel chase after Bethany following her infidelity, particularly after inadvertently catching them in a racy moment.
However, Daisy has now embarked on a relationship with Ryan and has formed a friendship with her previous nemesis Bethany. Away from Weatherfield, Bethany actress Lucy recently announced she is expecting her second child and is halfway through her pregnancy with her footballer boyfriend, Ryan Ledson.
As such, it’s likely Lucy will be going on maternity leave later this year and soap watchers have been predicting possible exit storylines, reports the Express. Soap watchers will recall that only recently exes Daisy and Daniel have bonded over dodgy police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts). Kit showed up earlier this year as Bernie Winter’s (Jane Hazlegrove) long-lost son.
However, Kit’s dubious conduct has raised suspicions among viewers, especially following his behaviour towards Bernie. Earlier this year, police officer Kit was involved in a scandalous plot where he planted a then-missing Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) DNA to frame Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper). The real culprit, Joel Deering (Callum Lill), was still on the loose. Recently, Kit has been seen secretly collaborating with criminal Sid and his counterfeit T-shirt business, promising silence in exchange for half of the profits.
Beth Tinker (Lisa George), whose son Craig is a colleague of Kit’s at the police station, recently caught Kit red-handed working with Sid, who was selling counterfeit T-shirts that Beth had designed. Beth accused Kit of being corrupt, claiming she had discovered he wasn’t as upright as he’d portrayed himself to be. With his career potentially in jeopardy, Kit blackmailed Beth on Wednesday night, threatening her to leave the cobbles permanently.
However, Beth isn’t the only one suspicious of Kit. Daisy has also been left feeling uneasy after Kit temporarily moved into the Rovers Return Inn before relocating to Redbank. Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) pointed out that this must be the flat that Daisy and her ex Daniel were planning to purchase. Furthermore, Daisy’s ex Daniel has also expressed his distrust of Kit, stating that something about Nathan’s conviction doesn’t feel right.
With Daisy and Daniel interacting in recent scenes, viewers are crossing their fingers for a steamy reunion taking to Twitter, now X, to share their thoughts. One person said: “I like Daisy & Daniel together”, and a different account said: “I want to see Daisy and Daniel together again.”
A third added: “Now break up Ryan and Daisy and put her back with Daniel and him back with Bethany thank you #corrie.”
Elsewhere, one person said: “Daisy rejecting Ryan’s suggestion to make things more serious eeeeeep the end is coming I am so excited for more Daisy Daniel buildup #corrie.”
