ITV Coronation Street’s Lauren actress issues clue on ‘dangerous’ boyfriend’s identity

Coronation Street’s Lauren Bolton actress Cait Fitton has teased the true identity of her character’s mystery ex-boyfriend, revealing “danger” ahead for the teen.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror this week, actress Cait confessed that there’s a lot more to come for her character, and she’s in big trouble amid her secret being revealed to some residents. Lauren was revealed to have a mystery partner, or so she claimed, a few months back on the soap but she didn’t say who.

She told former flame Max Turner that she was seeing someone, and being treated to luxury dates and expensive gifts. Out of nowhere, the broke teen suddenly had money and she was secretive as to where it came from and who her mystery man was.

But since then things have taken a dark turn, amid her money issues worsening. It’s been revealed that Lauren is posting videos onto adult content site O-Vidz for her subscribers, and it appears one of them is now harassing her.The mystery ex has yet to be identified, but they are constantly calling and messaging her and giving her gifts. Despite her begging the person to leave her alone, we saw them show up at her flat in a recent episode.

Fans are suspicious as to whether former villains Rob Donovan or Nathan Curtis could be the ex, or if returning character Tommy Orpington is the man in question. Speaking to The Mirror at the TV Choice Awards this week, actress Cait teased the identity of the character, as she reveal what was ahead.

Cait said fans could expect Lauren to face “obstacles”, and that her “shocking” secret will leave her in “a lot of danger” in upcoming scenes. She said: “There’s a lot of danger there. She’s a vulnerable 18 year-old-girl so she’s bound to make mistakes, but she’s still young.

“It’s a shock for Lauren because she blurts out [her secret] to Max, but Sabrina as well, and she’s not that close to Sabrina so it’s quite complicated. Even though she can’t accept it herself she’s expecting other people to, which is interesting to play but there will be a lot of danger ahead.

“I can’t reveal too much but it’s a very exciting storyline. Corrie always do an amazing job smashing all their serious storylines, so all I can say is stay tuned.” She went on: “Lauren lacks a lot of self-confidence and self-love, which is why she’s doing a lot of what she’s doing.

“Things didn’t work out with Max, she lives next to Sabrina, theres still that barrier up between them. She wants to be close with Max but doesn’t wanna interfere with their relationship. But she’s visioning what she wants for herself with these massive obstacles in her way, and she does what she has to to get what she wants.”
