Jesse Chadwick’s (John Thomson) sudden and unexpected return to Coronation Street will leave the Platt family puzzled.
He arrives back in the middle of this week. Randomly pulling up in Weatherfield in a taxi, Jesse isn’t on the cobbles to see his ex Eileen (Sue Cleaver), he’s there to see Gail (Helen Worth) after meeting her in Thailand.
We know as well from John’s previous comments that Jesse has kept in touch with Gail over the years and has been told about Bethany’s (Lucy Fallon) ordeal overseas.
It’s all well and good catching up with a pal – but is there another reason as to why Jesse has returned?
Coming up, Jesse tells David (Jack P Shepherd) that he’s rented a flat in Oakhill but is expecting a financial windfall.
Later, while examining his finances to work out how to buy Number 8, David’s guarded as Jesse offers to lend a hand and reveals he’s taking Gail on a trip to Whitby.
As Sarah (Tina O’Brien) and David decide he’s acting quite strangely, the conversation is cut short due to the arrival of an estate agent outside.
When Adam (Sam Robertson) then lets slip that Jesse may have overheard him and Daniel (Rob Mallard) discussing Damon’s (Ciaran Griffiths) hidden loot, Sarah decides that Jesse has taken it.
Towards the end of the week, David, Sarah and Nick (Ben Price) attend lunch with Jesse in the Rovers with one goal in mind – work out what he’s up to.
After being quizzed by the siblings about his finances, Jesse reveals that he’s expecting cash from the sale of his marital home.
Suddenly, he hurries out of the pub and Sarah decides to follow him.
What’s going on?
