Joel Deering’s sick plan for pregnant Lauren Bolton revealed in Coronation Street
After a traumatic few months, Lauren might not be out of danger just yet
UPCOMING Coronation Street scenes suggest impending danger for one character.
Teenager Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) had been missing for a long time and was presumed dead- only to resurface earlier this month.
Despite having just returned, scenes yet to air for the ITV soap suggest she could soon be in danger once again.
Viewers learned solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill) was the man responsible for Lauren’s disappearance, having attacked and left her for dead.
Since her return to the cobbles, Lauren has dropped the bombshell to Joel that she is pregnant – and that he is the father.
However, don’t be expecting them to be playing happy families anytime soon.
Spoilers reveal that Joel promises a now-bored Lauren that she’ll be on her way to Ireland within a week.
Could the villain be continuing his sinister deeds by having the young woman trafficked away?
In fact, it wouldn’t be the first time such a thing has happened in Weathrfield, with Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) finding herself in a perilous situation.
Back in 2017, Bethany’s “fiancé” Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper), had been pimping her out to his vile friends, including corrupt copper Neil Clifton (Ben Cartwright)
Taking his depraved nature a step further, Nathan had intended to sell her overseas as a sex slave.
Fortunately, Bethany had been able to approach a family and get help in time – while Nathan was arrested and locked up.
The parallels between the plots come as both Bethany and Nathan returned to the ITV soap after years away during the Lauren disappearance storyline.
Bethany was horrified to learn that her abuser had been released from prison – and was a free man once again.
Her past and Lauren’s present situation collided after vile Nathan ended up being held responsible for Lauren’s “murder”, after he was set up by bent copper Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).
Previously, Lauren’s former boss Roy Cropper (David Neilson) had been arrested and charged for her alleged murder.
Resident police officer DS Swain (Vicky Myers) was convinced of the beloved cafe owner’s guilt.
However, other characters such as Carla (Alison King), Nina (Mollie Gallagher), Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) and Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) maintained Roy’s innocence.
With even more twists and turns in the ongoing plot, where will the story go next?
