Major Coronation Street twist as Rowan Cunliffe’s true identity is confirmed

Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) and Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) have been suspicious of Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper) for several months now in Coronation Street, and they’ve finally found proof that he’s a wrong’un.

Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) was instantly charmed by Rowan, and it didn’t take her long to sign up with The Institute, much to Toyah and Nick’s concern.

From the very begin, they have struggled to trust Rowan, though Leanne has hung off his every word.

She is so taken in by him and The Institute that Toyah and Nick’s words of warning have caused tension within the family unit.

Determined to prove that Rowan isn’t all he seems, Toyah and Nick embarked on a mission in recent scenes to find out more about him, and what they discovered proved them right.

After a crash course from Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) on reverse image searching, Toyah was left disappointed when her searches led nowhere.

Meanwhile, at the Bistro, Nick met with Rowan and Leanne to discuss their new business proposition.

Leanne was recently asked to invest £40k in the venture, but when Nick refused, Rowan threatened to blow the secret of his affair with Toyah.

Backed into a corner, Nick agreed to hand over half the money.

With everything agreed, Nick and Leanne headed back to the flat, where Toyah had come up trumps in her investigation.

After stealing Rowan’s driving license, she discovered that his real name was Luke, and uncovered details of his shameful past.

Leanne was horrified when Toyah revealed that he had previously been imprisoned for a spate of burglaries and insisted that it must be fake news, though Toyah assured her it was true.

Will Leanne cut ties with lying Rowan, or will she take his side against her sister and fiancé?
