Mystery as Coronation Street’s Lisa George shows off ‘new contract’ – after it’s revealed she’s QUIT soap
Sources previously told how the actress was set for a new chapter
CORONATION Street fans have been left flummoxed after actress Lisa George revealed her brand new contract – despite quitting the soap.
The Sun previously exclusively revealed how the Beth Tinker actress would make a sensational departure from the ITV programme after 13 years.
Grimsby-born Lisa, 51, has played Craig Tinker’s brazen mother since 2011.
Yet a new snap on her Instagram Stories has sparked mystery as to her soap future.
It saw Lisa wearing a patterned bear-ear headband perched on a seat.
She accessorised with bold leopard-print hoop earrings – an accessory her no-frills character would certainly favour.
In her caption, she wrote: “And she’s back!
“New year – New contract – New day!!
“Happy new year to you all!!”
It remains to be seen if there has been a change of plan and Lisa will remain on the Weatherfield cobbles.
Previously, an insider told us how Beth’s soap exit would be “as dramatic as she is.”
At the time, a source said: “Lisa has been on Corrie for a long time and she’s had some great storylines.
“She’s become a firm fan favourite with her comedy scenes but has had viewers sobbing in heartbreaking plots like Sinead’s death.
“She loves Corrie and it’s in her bones but she feels now is the right time to move on and take on new challenges.”
Lisa’s final scenes on the soap were set to air over the summer.
