Shock Coronation Street comeback as villain makes surprise return to Weatherfield
Could one family be torn apart?
CHAOS may be ahead for Stu Carpenter, despite his hard efforts to keep his granddaughter Eliza Woodrow by his side.
Next week, Eliza’s father Dom Everett returns to Coronation Street. Could he try to get her back?
Eliza (portrayed by Savannah Kunyo) was keen to move in with her father Dom (Darren Morfitt) when she spontaneously reconnected with him.
However, her grandfather Stu (Bill Fellows), whom she has been living with since her mother Bridget was thrown behind bars for murder, was not ready to let her go.
After a hit and run which left her in hospital, Stu tried to come to an agreement with Dom who eventually agreed to back off and let his own daughter go if the Speed Daal chef paid him off.
Dom did a disappearing act on Eliza for the generous sum of £10k and the young girl was heartbroken to have been abandoned once again.
But in scenes airing next week on ITV, Dom makes another appearance in the cobbles – what could he want?
Coming up, Stu’s partner Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) tells a mystified Stu that she’s certain she spotted Dom in the precinct.
Answers come straight to Stu later on when Dom reveals he wants to return his £10k.
However, he adds that he’d prefer it if Eliza knew nothing about his visit as it would only upset her all over again.
What is Dom really up to?
Could Stu tell Eliza about Dom’s visit?
Or will she find out about it on her own?
Regular viewers of the Manchester-based program may remember that Eliza’s mother Bridget was sent to prison after admitting she’d killed Stu’s former lover, Charlie.
Stu had taken the fall for the crime several decades prior, which led him to lose both his daughter Bridget and his then-wife Lucy.
Bridget left Eliza with her father, despite the complicated relationship they shared in the past, and the schoolgirl seemingly found her mark in Weatherfield.
Could she leave the Street in an attempt to reconnect with her father Dom?
While this remains to be seen, Eliza’s hit and run – which occurred in late 2023 – may get a resolution as the culprit’s identity is revealed to authorities.
Weatherfield bully Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) was shown to be responsible for Eliza’s hit and run.
In scenes due on our screens next week, Mason’s partner in crime Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) has had enough of covering up his actions and tells the police everything.
Could Stu try to get revenge on the lad?
Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
