You’re going to need a strong stomach to deal with an upcoming Coronation Street scene involving Ken Barlow (William Roache) that we’re moments away from telling you about.
Recently in the ITV soap, Ken ended up in hospital after suffering a fall. As much as he hated to admit defeat, Ken eventually agreed with his family that he would need a carer to help him for a few weeks while he recovered and got back on his feet.
In upcoming episodes, Steve (Simon Gregson), Amy (Elle Mulvaney) and Daniel (Rob Mallard) sit down in the pub to discuss care package options for Ken and wonder how on earth they’re going to fund them.
Listening in on the conversation is Cassie (Claire Sweeney), who offers to be Ken’s carer for a quarter of the price of a professional.
With Cassie’s new job secured, she makes her way over to Number 1 for her first shift.
There, Steve makes out to Ken that Cassie is a qualified carer and they hired her through an agency. As she gets to work, Cassie ends up revealing that she’s had no training and only stepped in to help out and save the family a bit of cash.
In the week, Cassie returns to Number 1 where Steve informs her that her first job of the day is to cut Ken’s toenails.

As Cassie enjoys the company of the Barlows, Amy suggests to Steve that there’s a spark between him and Cassie.
