Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) are to be shocked to the core in upcoming Coronation Street scenes as cold-blooded killer Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) makes an appeal for his release.
Viewers will remember that Harvey was responsible for the death of Nick’s ex Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac), who he mistakenly shot whilst trying to hunt down Leanne.
In recent months, Harvey’s equally evil brother Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) has arrived back on the street and wormed his way back into Sarah Barlow’s (Tina O’Brien) life, moving in with her at Redbank and driving a further wedge into her relationship with estranged husband Adam (Sam Robertson).
Desperate to rid Damon of the street forever, Adam has turned to the dark side and approached Harvey in prison for help.
Harvey was more than happy to see his brother’s downfall – but there was a catch, he wanted Adam to help release him from His Majesty’s Pleasure.
Recent scenes have shown Adam meet up with John Perry (Ian Peck), an accomplice of Harvey’s who has agreed to take the rap for the murder.
Despite feeling an immense sense of guilt after discovering that John is suffering from a terminal cancer diagnosis, he drove him to the police station where he made the false confession.
Next week, doubting their botched plan to free Harvey, Adam quizzes John on his movements on the evening of the murder.
When CCTV footage showing John in a shop at the time of the murder comes to light, Adam is forced by Harvey to destroy the evidence.
News of the appeal reaches Nick and Leanne who confront Sarah and Damon over the ordeal, hoping that they can shed light onto his motives.
With Damon realising Harvey’s intentions, how long will it be before Adam’s plan is discovered?
