There are tense times in Coronation Street next week for Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) – not only does she risk everything with a court outburst against Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper), but she has to face the funeral of dad Les.
And soon it seems like there could be more to his gruesome abattoir death than meets the eye when a pay-off is offered – something which impacts struggling Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) too.
Amid all of this, Leanne may be toying with the idea of a reunion with Nick Tilsley (Ben Price), but is it all part of her revenge plot?
As she takes action against oblivious sister Toyah (Georgia Taylor), just what meanness does she have up her sleeve?
Elsewhere, relations are worse than ever between Shona and David Platt (Julia Goulding and Jack P Shepherd).
After an aggressive showdown at the prison, fears grow for David when Shona fails to return home.
And while she’s away, she makes a colossal mistake…
Monday December 2
In court, tensions are high as Rowan’s barrister cross-examines Amy, Nick and Leanne. When Leanne catches Rowan sharing a smug grin, she loses her temper and the court is adjourned.
Leanne sets her sights on Nick as she insists they have a drink together, but will Nick agree?
Later, Leanne finds Toyah’s passport and uploads the photo page from Toyah’s passport onto a website.
When David and Shona go to a meeting with the prison governor, he reveals that Clayton previously issued two visiting orders and someone came to see him.
When the governor refuses to tell who the visitor was, David ushers Shona out. A suspicious Shona confronts David and asks if he was Clayton’s visitor.
Chesney’s furious to discover someone has slashed his car tyres. Telling Fiz about the man with the van, Chesney’s convinced he’s the one behind it.
Chesney spots the same van again, parked outside the house but as he takes a closer look, the van speeds away.
Kit flirts with Daisy as he helps her position the fairy on the Christmas tree and suggests they go on a date. As they head for the Bistro, Daisy’s unimpressed as Kit shows no sympathy when Max approaches and blames him for Lauren being in a prison cell on her birthday.
Over lunch, Adam admits to Alya that he likes her a lot but when he heads to the bathroom, his phone beeps with a notification from a dating app.
Wednesday December 4
David admits to Max that he intercepted the visiting orders and visited Clayton but Shona must never know. Shona jumps in Steve’s cab, orders him to take her somewhere but mustn’t breathe a word.
Steve confides in Max that he drove Shona to the prison and as they both arrive at the prison gates, they find Shona mid-row with the governor.
As the argument escalates and Shona loses her temper, she shoves the governor.
Shona arrives home in the back of Steve’s cab, but glancing at the house, she changes her mind and orders Steve to drive her back into town.
In the flat, a plotting Leanne watches Nick trying to fix the Christmas lights. At Les’ will reading, Nick comforts Leanne as Toyah watches.
Adam reveals that the abattoir where Les worked has offered £50k in compensation for his death, with the condition of signing an NDA.
Bernie suggests Chesney look into it as there seems to be more to Les’s death, is there more to Les’s death than the abattoir is letting on?
Nick lies to Leanne that the school won’t let Sam go on holiday and he’ll be going alone but when Toyah gives Leanne her holiday dates, Leanne notes that she’ll be off at exactly the same time as Nick.
Leanne replaces Toyah’s passport and opens an email confirming a new bank account in Toyah’s name with Miller & Wise Bank.
Struggling to come to terms with being fitted with a stoma bag, Bethany attends her support group and it’s clear she’s lied to Dawn, the group leader, about the operation she had which resulted in a stoma bag.
Sarah shows Bethany a news article stating that the Turkish clinic she used has botched another liposuction operation.
Daisy admits to Kit that she was unimpressed at his handling of Max and reckons he could have been more empathetic.
Friday December 6
After she failed to return home last night, David calls at the café hoping Shona will have turned up for work but is out of luck. Finally returning home, Shona confides in Roy that she’s done something she deeply regrets.
Debbie shows off her new convertible to Kevin, but her mood changes when Bethany mentions suing the Turkish clinic for yet another botched operation.
Adam advises Bethany and Sarah to demand compensation from a director of the Turkish clinic who happens to live in the UK, and when he reveals their name, they are shocked.
Leanne prepares for Les’s wake at the bistro, where Nick reveals his solo holiday plans as Sam couldn’t get time off school. After the funeral, the group gathers for the wake, where Nick gives Leanne a comforting hug.
Leanne arranges with Mrs Crawshaw for Sam to join Nick on holiday without his knowledge.
In the Rovers, Jesse and Gail discuss what they should do with the money from his house sale.
