Two iconic Coronation Street characters find themselves with nowhere to go in upcoming scenes when they are kicked out of the house.
Ken Barlow (William Roache) is at his wits’ end in the ITV soap next week over Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) and Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).
At the beginning of the week, Steve invites Cassie to an evening of classical music in the park, and she is quick to accept.
However, when she arrives, dressed up to the nines, she is taken aback when Steve reveals that she’ll be accompanying Ken, as he has a hot date with Demi.
Viewers will know that Cassie has been working as Ken’s carer for several weeks, though her employment hasn’t been without its issues.
Learning that Cassie wasn’t a qualified carer left Ken horrified, and her unintentional insults towards his late wife Deirdre Barlow disgusted him.
Fortunately, they have managed to make the agreement work since then – but for how much longer?
When Steve and Cassie continue to bicker the next day, Ken is left despairing. Finally at the end of his tether, he orders them out of the house.
Ken isn’t the only one fed up of the squabbling, however, as Cassie soon announces to Steve that she is quitting.
However, when she later returns to No.1 and overhears Ken on the phone, will she change her mind about leaving her job behind?
It isn’t just Steve that Cassie has to deal with amid all of this, as Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) makes her way back to Coronation Street – and she has plenty of opinions.
When Tracy finds out that Cassie is working for the family as Ken’s carer, she is shocked, and her reaction leaves Cassie offended.
Will this affect Cassie’s decision about working for the Barlow patriarch?
